Matchweek 7 Premier League Betting

There’s another huge fixture on matchweek 7 in the Premier League as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool host Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

This is City’s second huge Premier League match in little over a week, after the champions beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.

The win for City seen them cut in the betting to win the Premier League title. City were 13/8 ahead of the Chelsea fixture, but have now been cut into even money.

As for Chelsea, after being 15/8 last week, they are now out to 5/2. As for Liverpool, after last week’s 3-3 draw, they remain at 7/2.

Matchweek 7 Premier League Preview

Moving on to this weekend’s fixtures, and the opening match of the weekend sees Manchester United hosting Everton at Old Trafford.

The knives were sharpening behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s back on Wednesday when his side were struggling to break down Villarreal in the Champions League.

After the farcical scenes at the end of the match last Saturday against Aston Villa, a win on Wednesday was a must for Ole.

Thankfully that man Ronaldo came to the rescue, and I think he will do the business again today in the match against Everton. I also fully expect to see the Portuguese record goal scorer taking the penalties at Old Trafford from now on.

Elsewhere, could it finally be a first win of the season for one of Burnley or Norwich when the meet at Turf Moor. Personally, I think the Clarets will finally win today. And as for the Canaries, the international break can’t come soon enough.

Also on Saturday I expect to see wins for Chelsea, Leeds, and Arsenal. Yes, Arsenal.

Brighton don’t look the sort of team who will rough the Gunners up, and Arteta’s team have won three in a row now.

Newcastle are another team still looking for a win, and they travel to the midlands to face Wolves. I think that this match will end in a stalemate.

Match Predictions

  • Man Utd vs Everton – Sat, 12.30pm – Home Win
  • Burnley vs Norwich – Sat 3pm – Home Win
  • Chelsea vs Southampton – Sat 3pm – Home Win
  • Leeds vs Watford – Sat 3pm – Home Win
  • Wolves vs Newcastle – Sat 3pm – Draw
  • Brighton vs Arsenal – Sat 5.30pm – Away Win
  • West Ham vs Brentford – Sun 2pm – Home Win
  • Spurs vs Aston Villa – Sun 2pm – Home Win
  • Crystal Palace vs Leicester – Sun 2pm – Away Win
  • Liverpool vs Man City – Sun 4.30pm – Draw

Moving onto Sunday’s matches, and I expect to see West Ham edge out Brentford in a tight London Derby.

Also in London, surely Spurs are due a win. Harry Kane scored a hat-trick against inferior opposition on Thursday, and he is due a Premier League goal by now. I expect both a Spurs win and a Kane goal on Sunday.

I also see Leicester getting the better of in transition Crystal Palace. Despite being out of form, I think that with Jamie Vardy still finding the net regularly, Leicester are always a theat.

Finally, Liverpool against Man City. I’m finding this one difficult to predict and I think all three results are possible. So I’m going to play safe, sit on the fence, and call this one a draw.

Matchweek 7 Betting Tips

This weekend I’m looking at goals for my betting tips. I think there will be plenty of chances at Elland Road in the Leeds vs Watford match. I also see Harry Kane finally getting on the scoresheet, so think he could be a good call in the anytime goalscorer betting market.

  • Leeds v Watford – Over 2.5 Goals @ 4/6
  • Spurs v Villa – Harry Kane Anytime Goalscorer @ 10/11
