There’s just four teams left in Euro 2020 now, but from a football betting perspective, the bookmaker’s appear to think there’s only three teams in with a chance of lifting the Henri Delaunay Trophy at Wembley on Sunday night.

With the – apparently – more favourable draw, Gareth Southgate’s England side are the favourites at 7/5 (2.4).

The English also have the added advantage of having all remaining matches played at their home ground of Wembley.

Italy odds slashed after win over Belgium

Next in the betting comes Roberto Mancini’s Italy side, who are 2/1 (3.0) to win the competition. The Italians have the harder looking semi-final coming up on Tuesday, when they take on Luis Enrique’s Spain team.

Italy are the big movers in the betting. They had the toughest looking last eight match against Belgium. Prior to Friday’s 2-1 win over the Belgians, the Italians were 4/1 (5.0) third favourite in the betting.

Their impressive looking win sees their odds slashed in half, and they are now into second favourites.

The shift in the betting odds is obviously mainly down to getting past one of the pre tournament favourites.

But as well as that, it was the manner in which the Italians did it. They had that old style Italian tournament mentality about them. A mentality we associate with Italian teams of yester-year, and which is well capable of gate crashing any party.

The aforementioned Spanish are 3/1 (4.0) to be lifting the trophy on Sunday night. Prior to their quarter-final win over Switzerland, the Spanish were second favourites at 16/5 (4.2), meaning there has been little change in their odds.

Moving onto the second semi-final, and England’s 4-0 win over Ukraine on Saturday night has seen them slightly trimmed in the latest betting. Prior to defeating Andriy Shevchenko’s side, England were 15/8, they are now 7/5.

Probably down to the fact that they are now confirmed to be playing England (as opposed to Ukraine), Denmark’s odds have strangely lengthened, rather than shortened.

Ahead of the quarter-finals, Kasper Hjulmand’s side were 9/1 to win Euro 2020, they are now 10/1. This despite being in the semi-finals.

Latest Betting to win Euro 2020

  • England 7/5
  • Italy 2/1
  • Spain 3/1
  • Denmark 10/1

If the semi-finals go as expected, don’t be surprised to see England and Italy almost neck and neck in the betting to win the competition outright.

Gareth Southgate’s side will probably just edge favouritism, but only really because of the Wembley effect.
