Standout 2021 Premier League Players

With over 3/4 of League games completed now we have seen enough of all teams to make a decision on the best players on display. This is not a Fantasy Team – obviously we’d be missing De Bruyne, Fernandez, Salah, Son. Instead going for a group of 11 Premier League Players that have impressed outside the regular elite.

GK – Emiliano Martinez – Aston Villa

12 clean sheets to his name this season. Martinez really has become a huge asset to Villa this season. Only 1 error leading to goal shows the sort of form he has been in. Outside the usual Elite goalkeepers usually making headlines, Alison/Ederson he is fast becoming one of the best in the Premier League and a huge reason Villa are doing so well.

LB – Joao Cancelo – Manchester City

Cancelo has been a revelation this season with Pep playing him at left/right back and wingback at times. He was almost unnoticed last season despite 17 appearances but has become a vital part of City’s title aspirations. Not since Phillip Lahm has Pep Guardiola made a defender play in so many different positions on the field which shows the level of trust.

CB – Tyrone Mings – Aston Villa

Tyrone Mings has gone from playing in a leaky Bouremouth defence to playing for Villa in one of the best defences this season. He has also caught the eye of the England manager with his displays. This shows how far he’s come in the short space of 2 years. Dominant in the air and fast over the ground he has become a player that many sides would like to have in their ranks.

CB – Ruben Diaz – Manchester City

Nobody is talking of the excellent Aymeric Laporte anymore at city which proves how good the partnership of Diaz and Stones has been this season. A superb signing that City finally got right this season. A powerful center half that can score is worth it’s weight in gold right now. A shoe in to our best eleven Premier League Players so far.

RB – James Justin – Leicester City

This guy has really made a name for himself for Leicester this season. With injuries to key defenders he really took his chance and has been a huge loss for them since recently getting an injury himself. At a young 23 years of age he has shown his pace and skill but his physical strength really stood out at times when dealing 1-v-1 with attackers.

MF – Harvey Barnes – Leicester City

Another that picked up a bad injury this week. Barnes really looks the real deal. Don’t be surprised to see him move for big money in the Summer. A lightning fast winger that has an eye for goal, Barnes can only get better with games.

MF – Raphina – Leeds United

21 matches and 5 goals doesn’t tell the full story about Raphina as he is worth more than that to this Leeds team. Skillful and graceful on the ball he has become a huge player for the Yorkshire men this season. Still only 24 years old he could easily move onto another club for good money this Summer.

MF – Thomas Soucek – West Ham

This guy has been a revelation this season for the Hammers. I’d say he’d head a boulder if he got the chance! 8 goals return from Midfield is a good season so far and he gives West Ham a huge presence in the midfield with his strength. Probably our Premier League Players player of the season, certainly he is the best purchase this year.

MF – Jack Grealish – Aston Villa

3rd Villa player in the team am i going mad? Couldn’t leave Grealish out. He is having a fantastic season so far. His involvement in Villa goals and assists cannot be underestimated. He doesn’t shirk responsibility either. Demands the ball all the time and the team play for him. Only a matter of time until he moves to a big club with only the fee being a blocker. english players making internal moves are always with huge fees. This one would be justified.

ST – Michail Antonio – West Ham

Despite getting an early injury this season he has 7 goals from 17 games. not a brilliant return as such but with West Ham sitting in 4th place it shows his value to the team. He leads the line brilliantly and brings others into play. He has always had a good presence on the field in previous years but this season he is having one of his best.

ST – Dominic Calvert Lewin – Everton

13 goals in 22 games shows what a wonderful season he is having. Carlo Anchelotti has identified with him how to get the best from game to game. Powerful in the air and a handful with his pace he has turned from a very average player into someone that causes all defences a problem. Everton are setup to play for him and he is delivering in spades. If he can continue this vein of form he could break 20 goals this year which would elevate him to a level he’s never been at before. He is still only 23 years old!

There you have it. Obviously the midfield could have honorable mentions with Gundogan having the season of his life and Mason Mount in great form. But this team is all about players that were not always looked upon as Top Tier but by the time we close in on 38 games will already be elevated to Premierhip Class.
