New Golfing Calendar

A statement has been issued by organisers of each of the four ‘Majors’ with new dates to hold each of the tournament’s. As with all sports COVID19 has ripped the sporting schedule apart and golf has been no different.

PGA CHAMPIONSHIP :

The PGA Championship which was originally pencilled in for May 11th-17th will now be the first Major of the year. A new date in August has been found with August 3rd-9th the dates all golfing eyes will be on TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.

US OPEN :

The US Open will still be hosted Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York. The original date of June 15th-21st has been moved to the weekend before Europe and the USA go head to head in the Ryder Cup which is now September 14th-20th.

US MASTERS :

After the Ryder Cup (which remains as originally scheduled, September 22-27, at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin) there’s a bit of a gap to the US Masters. Augusta thankfully have managed to squeeze itself into the calender in November. 9th-15th to be exact.

THE 149TH OPEN :

Unfortunately The Open will not take place this year. The 149th Open will still take place in Sandwich at Royal St George’s but with a date of July 11th-18th 2021.

“The R&A will transfer over 2020 purchased tickets and hospitality packages to The Open in 2021. Purchasers who no longer wish to (or are no longer able to) attend in 2021 will receive a full refund.
