Two goals in the opening ten minutes ended the scoring for the day, but both sides had chances to eventually go on and grab all three points in a scrappy encounter.
County opened the scoring through Danny Lloyd,only for the Cards to draw level through Alex Wall five minutes later
The game was just five minutes old when The Hatters took the lead after sloppy defending from the Cards from a corner by Sam Walker which was flicked on by Adam Thomas into the path of the unmarked Lloyd to drill the ball past Craig Ross.
Stockport’s lead lasted just five minutes as The Cards responded following a long throw from Jack Cook into the box, the ball bounced over Moussa Diarra’s head, but found an unmarked Wall for a simple tap in for his first goal in Woking colours.
County almost restored their lead following an almighty scramble in the Woking goalmouth from a corner that resulted in Cook clearing the ball off the line.
With half-time approaching Jamar Loza wriggled his way into the box and saw his deflected shot clip the bar as both sides went into the break all square.
Both sides continued to press forward in the early stages of the second half, with Ben Gerring pulling off an outstanding last-ditch tackle to deny Liam McAlinden who was through on goal for the Hatters.
A defensive error from the visitors allowed Wall a chance to grab his second of the afternoon after he strolled through the middle but dragged his shot wide of the mark.
With fifteen minutes remaining Cards Gaffer Alan Dowson made a double change by bringing on Josh Neufville and Godfrey Poku on for Dave Tarpey and Ben Dempsey.
Despite some late pressure from Woking which resulted in three corners inside a few minutes with Kane Ferdinand heading all off them over, it was the Hatters who almost grabbed all three points when a Jordan Keane header was brilliantly tipped around the corner by Craig Ross, before substitute Nyal Bell’s 25 yard shot was a whisker away from the goal deep into added time, as both sides had to settle for a share of the spoils.
